I listened to this space opera on the Escape Pod podcast. It took me a while to work out what was going on at the beginning, but by the time the main character joined her new ship I was enjoying it. I'm still not clear what an Aberrator actually does (if that is even the correct word) but it seems interesting.

It is also available in an anthology of stories set in the Cassad Empire, Dark Universe, which I will be buying as I would like to read more stories set there.
