Well-written, moving and important. About one third of all bandwidth in the USA is used to view porn (June 17, 2010, DailyTech.com). Pornography has become a part of our sexual imagination, shaping our intimate relationships. Addiction to the dopamine stimulation of porn has “triggered a crippling dependency” (p 49) for many, many people. This is one man’s journey out of dependency and his story works for a wide variety of addictions. It’s about the lies we tell ourselves, about pretending and brokenness. It’s also about mindfulness and coming to healing. Worth a read and most certainly our attention.… (altro)
One's Pastor's journey through sex addiction. What does the addict need? Something greater than reasoning, something stronger than self-well. Once a leader's sexual thinking and behavior has become compulsive, moralizing and threats will not be effective in helping them change. Such tacts only make the addiction worse. What is effective? Honesty and love, specific tools, and healthy community
