My Review (May contain spoilers, fair warning upon reading this review)

The Finisher is a book that I have been itching to read since seeing this morally grey hero in the previous book in the series. His role just had me yearning to get my hands on his book and I am so delighted that I was able to and it was a blast. While it wasn't a perfect book and not quite as satisfying as the previous books....it was a pure delight. I can see why these books have been getting so much traction, they are worth it. The Finisher is basically a mix of a mafia/mma fighter romance with a blend of second chance love and a marriage of convenience.

The mix of tropes that we see enter into this story was such fun to read. I really enjoyed the whole heroine pining after the heroine, and him having forgotten her. It was so on point in so many real ways. I also was gravitating towards this story that had so much heartache and longing packed within in. They have such a strong connection to each other. And also the Latino blend to their heritage was top notch, it really felt authentic to the story. I also was so interested in how the secrets become revealed in the story. The only drawback in this story is that I didn't feel like all the questions got answered specifically for our couple especially them being together and the hero not remembering and that aspect to the plot didn't seem to get resolved that felt satisfying.

Overall I found The Finisher to be a captivating read that melted my heart. I was so easily drawn into their story on just an emotional level and it delivered all the way for me. Eager to see what the next book will showcase.

When I first saw this book, I was immediately drawn to the cover. The cover art, illustrations, and sprayed edges are gorgeously crafted. Well done! I was also very appreciative that the author included a note at the beginning of the book. The story covered a lot of heavy topics, and I’m glad they included it. Thank you! I really enjoyed the FMC Corvena Clemm — she starts out as a timid woman but then finds love and grows into her own power. She learns that she can be herself, and people will love her for who she is. I did listen to the audiobook, and boy was it good! The narrator for Corvena read with so much emotion and expression, and moreover, it felt authentic. Overall, this is a new adult book, and just like the author’s note indicates, is for 18+ readers. It is super spicy, which adds to her sexual awakening. So, just FYI. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️… (altro)

Quickie Review (May contain spoilers, please be responsible)

The Emperor is the book that features a couple that was teased in the first two books. This one has such beautiful pining in it. There is something about the heroine pining after the hero that just works for me so well. And I really enjoyed the secret relationship dynamic that comes into play with this one here. I think I loved the first book a bit more than one, but only slightly. I did enjoy the heroine of this book way more though. I just love a softer heroine in a mafia romance. This also had a mix of unique tropes that really came out together in such a intense intriguing way. This is also a story that reading the first two books, will add more dimension to the characters. I was so grateful I had read these books in order and closer together. And I am so excited for the next book in the series. Its going to be purely fascinating that is for sure.… (altro)

First Impressions
The Reaper is the second book in the series but is also the conclusion to the story involving Tristan and Morano while also leaving breadcrumbs of serial plot to guide you into what will be happening with book three. The Reaper literally starts off where "Predator" leaves off. The Reaper is less inner relationship angst which I really appreciated and more focused on our couple learning each other. This is where our couple really have more intention when it comes to their relationship. I really appreciate that. I never know what authors will do when it comes to focusing on one couple in more than one book but this author really focused on it correctly.

What I Loved
I am keeping this review a bit shorter so that I don't spoil too much of the plot. So I just want to focus on what I truly enjoyed about this book. I really enjoyed this couple's dynamic. I love how edgy it feels but you also know how full in they both are into the relationship despite that secrets and reveals that crop up between the story. Each of them have demons that they need to fight, but they are so sturdy together as a couple. We get some fun side character that really shines a beautiful life on this story. The plot keeps you on the edge of your seat. The third act is packed with mystery and intensity and some crazy drama but its the type of setup that you can easily get behind and become so consumed by.

What I Struggled With
Nothing really. It wasn't quite as consuming as the first book so it didn't quite make it to 6 star rating, but I absolutely loved this one.

Narration
This had the same narration team as the first book and it was superb in every way. Really brought out the right vibes in the right places that fit just right.

Overall View
The Reaper is a stunning installment that brings in a great conclusion but also leads into what is next for the series. Its packed with thrills and mysteries, secrets and reveals, and a passionate love affair with just the right amount of edge to satisfy!
