The How & Why of Jewish Prayer, by Israel Rubin, is an excellent resource on Jewish Prayer,

Not only is the book informative, but it speaks to both the beginner and those who have invoked Judaism and Jewish prayer into their daily routine and lives.

From the concept of prayer to the prayers that are known to be "fixed", the book is insightful in the processes of prayer, both in the synagogue and at home. It offers background on the synagogue experience as well as how to treat and handle the Siddur and other books considered to be Holy. Explanations on prayers, their meaning and when they are said is given with clarity.

From morning prayers to afternoon and evening prayers, The How & Why of Jewish Prayer is a complete resource, and one that also includes content on festivals, fasting days, and the types of Kaddish.

Being a part and participant in the Jewish community and Jewish commitment is reinforced through reading The How & Why of Jewish Prayer. It is a well-thought out, well-organized and extremely well-written for all levels of Judaism, and one can gain much knowledge and understanding throughout the pages.

I highly recommendThe How and Why of Jewish Prayer, by Israel Rubin, to everyone, in order to gain insight into, not only Jewish prayer, but also into the mechanics of Judaism that brings us to willingly observe and educate ourselves further into the Jewish realm of being.
