The story shares stories of various animals from all over the world. There is also a number pattern. With every page and new animal, one more is added. In the end the grandparents ask the grandchildren to please share the earth and take good care of the nature that surrounds them. This a great story to read to young children because it subtly instills in readers the importance of a healthy environment. Included in the back of the book is a short description on every animal mentioned in the book. I would definitely read that part of the book to students and design an activity incorporating it. I would assign each student an endangered, or near endangered animal and have them research that animal and create a brochure including the information and pictures that they find.
