The Oracle by Mila Riggs is the 1st a Dark Gifts Book. Alex Kosmitoras is beginning his sophomore year at Grandon High. He is hoping this will be a better year and that he will get a friend. He is picked on at school because he is blind. He meets Simmi Shergill, a new student from New Delhi, who wants to be his friend. Simmi’s mother likes to visit The All-Seeing Miss Teak, a psychic shop that moved in next to Sweet Blossoms, the shop run by Alex’s mother which allows the two teens to spend time together. But then Alex begins to have déjà vu moments. He sees an incident play out that later happens in real life. It appears that Alex can see the future and Miss Teak works on teaching Alex how to use his gifts. Alex will need to learn quickly because a dark entity is after Simmi. Alex with help from Miss Teak and others with special gifts work to defeat an evil foe. The Oracle an interesting paranormal mystery that I believe will appeal to a younger audience. I felt that the information was lacking. While The Oracle was not my type of paranormal novel, but I think it will appeal to the teenage/tween age group. The Oracle is an interesting paranormal novel that has a group banding together to defeat a dark adversary.… (altro)
