I went and looked at my reviews and in the past 12 years I have read over 50 books on the Vietnam War and this is one of the very best. It concentrates on one province Phuoc Tuy where the 1st Australian Task Force operated. However unlike most accounts it gives full coverage to the South Vietnamese, pro-government and anti. It is clear in it's intention and treats everyone as important, unlike so many books on Vietnam that often seem to forget the Vietnamese, particularly the pro-government side. The range of sources is impressive and it is clear that they were not only read but understood. The Author gives a clear account of the province including politics, economics, demographics and of course military actions. Every chapter added new information and explanations. A very impressive work, highly recommended.… (altro)
