Shy the Platypus di Leslie Rees
When I was growing up there were very few decent kids books about Australian animals but this was one of them. On re-reading I have found it less compelling but still interesting, informative and with some nice pictures. But I'm now in the position of having to downsize my library and this book is one of the casualties. Pity but I won't be using it in the future. I give it three stars.
Dustjacket and board cover show the emu and offspring as well as statement: 'the Australian Book Society's award - the best children's book in the year of its publication'.
