Taught openly for the first time in Hong Kong in the 1950s by the late Grandmaster Yip Man, it was brought to the world's attention by his most famous student, Bruce Lee. Since Yip Man's death in 1972, Wing Chun has spead to all parts of the wold through his students, including his own sons, Ip Chun and Ip Ching.
Wing Chun uses simple and direct short-range simultaneous attack and defence hand techniques, plus powerful low kicks. These, combined wht its simple but evasive footwork and its logical and scientific methodology, are the primary reasons why it is fast becoming one of the most popular Chinese martial arts around the world.
This book ncludes:
The fundamental principles of the hand and leg techniques.
Detailed explanations of the shape, structure and movements, plus a checklist for each technique.
A detailed analysis and explanation of each of the 'empty hand' forms.
An in-depth explanation of the principles and concepts behind Chi Sao, Wing Chun's 'sticking hands'.
A scientific and anatomical explanation of the basic principles underlying the Wing Chun system.
Sifu Shaun Rawcliffe, oneof the most hghly qualified and certified Wing Chun instructors, is one of only seventeen instructors in the world officially certified to represent Grandmaster Ip Chun. Shaun is the chief instructor of the Midlands Wing Chun Kuen (UK).
