Boy have I been waiting for this 163 page charmer. I used to feel very connected to poetry as a teenager and could turn anything into a poem, but as I got older it got harder and harder, and I felt like I was behind this big wall and couldn't find the door. Well my savior, my white knight has finally arrived. Step by step, I am encouraged systematically to reach inside, find my inner poet, capsulize what I want to say and then just let it roll forth like it was the most natural thing in the world.

The author said that it was set up as a study course over a 9 month period, but can be done in less time, but He recommends not less than 9 weeks. These dynamic exercises can be done in a group, with a mentor, or even alone. The biggest thing is to just do them. There was a lot is useful history on poetry in general and it helped me to get a deeper sense of how cathartic the act of putting thoughts on paper really is. I would recommend this intensely personal hand held journey to anyone looking for a way to heal from the inside out. Thanks Jay, for reintroducing me to my poet within.
