A compassionate and clearly-reasoned look at how society has caused harm to people by many of its sexual taboos and laws. The influence of books like this becomes apparent when one considers how many of the taboos discussed in this book, such as masturbation and homosexuality, are now considered much more acceptable and non-harmful (although certainly this is not universal). Probably its most controversial pronouncements are the book's condemnation of Christian attitudes of guilt, fear and punishment where sex outside of marriage is concerned.… (altro)
