I enjoyed the first part of the book, leading up to and living in the underground shelter. However, for me the story lost all credibility when the main characters leave the shelter. Overall, the writing was good and the action sequences were interesting, but the direction the story went just left me not caring about it.

I probably won't read the sequel, especially priced at $5.99.

A young boy is bullied on the school bus, abused by a fake, alcoholic step-father that his mother cannot do without, rejected by his real father and step-mother and is required to perform sex acts on his math teacher in exchange for a good grade. When he finally snaps from the abuse, his anger turns to horror and he executes unspeakable acts of violence on those who have hurt him. A really tough little book to read, but a necessary tool to get the word out about child abuse. My thanks to the author and Goodreads for a complimentary copy.

There's an intriguing story here of a young adolescent with serious issues. I have no argument story wise with the revenge he embarks upon, but the aftermath is unrealistic. Sorry, there's just no happy ever after for someone who's stepped over certain lines, and I think it demeans the central character to tie things up in such a sweet knot. The author should have kept things dark, even through the character's "triumph" and relief.

In this book of the series Luke is a very different person. He sees people on a deeper level and people see him in an almost esoteric light. The story has many religious undertones, but it also has a message of peace and hope for the people we meet, and lose, along the journey of life.

This was an amazing read. I can respect this author and his book. Had excellent material and was very in depth on shifting your mind's paradigm to answer main life questions. His fictional main character was very well developed. Gave you a sense of being there in the middle of the action. Aaron B. Powell never disappoints. Look forward to the next book.

I recommend this book to everyone who is lucky enough to come across it.

Follow Luke as he gives his personal account of doomsday, growing up in a fallout shelter, and a civilization that rises from the ashes of the apocalypse. Doomsday Diaries is nothing like I expected. I quickly browsed the Table of Contents, so I had an idea of what to expect. But the book is "over the top" good.

Very different type of book I usually don’t read. Fascinating insight into a Doomsday life in a shelter and afterlife from it. I really enjoyed the journey. Easy to read and would definitely recommend this book. I loved the characters and the book was well written. I look forward to more books by this author.

Ok I was kind of weary of reading a book like this by a guy but i will admit i was pleasantly surprised... IN THE BEGINNING!! When this book first begins YOU the reader, feel sexy just reading about how beautiful he thinks his wife is and how he seems he HAS to be touching her in some way weather its a blatant stroke or a gentle caress. But then during the first threesome when he starts talking about how Marissas' "YOUNG" skin feels and how good a vagina that "HASN"T" had a kid feels I think it loses A LOT!!! Ok look these are MAJOR fears women worry about on a daily basis and most women read to escape their life and experience things the normally wouldn't, and when THESE fears are rubbed in the readers face it kind of hurts. I feel women who have low self esteam that read these books might feel that their worries are confirmed and their other half does feel this way because shes had kids or is over College age!! I just felt that after that first encounter Kyle didn't feel his wife was good enough any more. Like when Marissa comes over in her trench coat and she shows Kyle her out fit and he talks about how everything is so PERFECT on her then when his wife comes in the room with her outfit all he can talk about is how it looked like it was squeezing her (which is a nice way to say she looked fat) and then when it was her turn to sleep with him all he says is she looked uncomfortable in her out fit? REALLY!?!? THAT"S IT!!?! REALLY!! No talk about her soft skin or how her ... NOPE NOTHING!! It was like she gets pushed to the side and then he sleeps with Marissa next to Britt on the couch , feels pretty bad about it till he sees two younger women (who remind him of Marissa) running and decided not to because he doesnt want to stop seeing Marissa. Then after HE DOESNT tell Britt does it AGAIN while tripin X and Brits out of town!! UHHHH I just was let down with the ending ending how it does. I think ALOT of people think that if you explore this kind of thing in your relationship it will end badly and i felt thats exactly where this is headed. Now let me say that i am 33 so I am relating to Britt in this story not Marissa. And i feel that if Brit knew what Kyle was thinking in that first encounter and durung their little X trip then i dont think she would have kept on with their adventure and because of that i felt this sensuous sexy story is going wrong fast. I really love the descriptions and the characters are very sexy. The storyline is GREAT and the sex scenes ARE WONDERFULLY DELICIOUS!! I will read the next one to see how it goes!! I have faith with this author. And i want it noted that the main character Kyle sounds alot like the author. That being said if Kyle is you Arron WELL DONE HONEY!!!! WELL DONE!! YOU ARE ONE LUCKY BASTARD!!! I am giving this book 4 stars because it made me a little self-conscious but it other then that IT WAS FREAKIN SMOKIN HOT!!!
