The Quaker Movement has been said to have influence far out of proportion to its size. For survival in a world that often looks upon such a group with condescension, the Friends have developed a keen and lively sense of humour which is in a way akin to true spiritual grace.

Horace Pointing has been able to speak truth to the Quakers in the UK through the quiet, humour-filled essays which appeared regularly for many years in the Wayfarer, now The Quaker Monthly.
