Well alrighty then...

This was not what I was expecting. I knew that this author would weave me in her spell because there is a lure to the way that she crafts a sentence. It is poetic and visceral. Even when there is a touch of darkness that should have felt depraived or made me feel uncomfortable it was mesmerizing. I am in awe of how she can make me feel with words the way music does with sound.

Tobias had a brutality to him that I wasn't expecting. The baggage he was carrying alone should have been enough to push Mae away but his cruelty even more. Yet, there was beauty in that cruelty and I was drawn to him like a moth to a flame. I guess that is the masochist in me because it was delicious. I wanted more, so I could understand why Mae did too. I found myself irritated at times because this amazing story was told in a short time frame. I wanted it spread out more and have their animosity explored more as they fought this attraction to one another and the reasons behind that attraction. That could just be me wanting everything in a pretty bow too. The steamy times in this book? YEAH, Some of the hottest ones that I have read. The chemistry, the brutality, and grittiness of it. HOT. HOT. HOT.

That being said, I did struggle with a few parts. I wanted to know more about Mae and her backstory. There was room here to expand on in my opinion especially if her being alone was why the connection with Tobias was as strong as it was. I also struggled, REALLY STRUGGLED, with Shiloh in this story. Had I not already loved her in her story, I am not sure that I would have even liked her in this one. I had to keep reminding myself that this was Tobias and Mae's story to keep her from spoiling it because, trust me when I say this, they deserved to have this moment.

Even with my issues, I still LOVED this story. It reminded me why I fell in love with her all over again. I almost wish they all had this edge to them because it truly was magic. I am looking forward to whatever this author has coming next.… (altro)

I love this author and this series. I have eagerly been waiting for more words from this author. There is something about her writing style that I adore. She creates characters that are unique and distinctly her own. Even with as different as they are there is something about them that works as a collective whole.

Each set of characters from the interconnected standalones have made me fall in love with them. This was no different in this story with Drake and Harper. I have adored Drake since the beginning. There was just something about him and the things that came out of his mouth. He totally lived up to that mouth in this story. He also met his match with Harper. This girl was sass with a capital S. I was all in for this story to unfold and for this girl to catch a break. I thought I had the story figured out and the direction that it would unfold especially do to a certain predicament that she had found herself in. I WAS NOT prepared for how the story went through. That disheartened me. I was so involved with the story that it didn't make sense as to why it went the way that it did. I am hoping that there is a good reason and plan in place for why this is happening.

I am still invested in the story but have removed a star because of this. The story seemed shorter too which was also frustrating because I was just really getting into the story when it ended on the cliffhanger. I adore this author and am very excited for new words. I am just going to have to trust that she is going to fix my broken heart because I need and want Drake to be my favorite.… (altro)

This author is always good at creating a story that sets the stage for the dynamics and story to evolve. Regardless if the story is a novella or a full-fledged novel, she creates characters and situations that the audience can not only relate to but actually FEEL the energy of that moment. This was especially true in regards to Tilly and Kai.

My only complaint about this story was that it was too short. I wanted more. I wanted things expanded on how and why they ended up at this junction. I wanted to read more of Kai and his amazing mouth. I wanted to see Tilly learned to fly. I wanted to know more about how things played out with Zeke. Mainly I just wanted MORE.

This author is one of the best at writing Rockstar romance. I look forward to more of her work in the future.

After a whopper of a cliffhanger, this book picks up right where the first book ended and gave me all the answers that I so desperately needed. This book will make no sense if the first book isn't read first for this reason so it is imperative to read it in order. I will be the first to admit that I was a little worried about whether this author would be able to mend my heart. I had nothing to fear because Drake was EVERYTHING and then some. His steadfast devotion was swoon-worthy. I loved the strength in Harper as she tried to succeed on her own and in also her slowly seeing that it was okay to finally trust people, especially Drake. I also enjoyed seeing older characters again (/sigh I still have a mad crush on Zeke).

There were parts of the story that frustrated me, mainly how things were handled with her Uncle and The Collector. It felt unresolved to me and rushed. Especially, after all the buildup. Even though the ending felt rushed and was a happily for now ending I have no doubt that they will be a Happily ever after couple because these two were written in the stars. I liked seeing a glimpse of who the next book will be in this series. My interest is most definitely piqued.… (altro)
