Psycho Pink

STORY
What story?! The plot jumps from one point to another without ever really explaining anything. The dialog is mediocre at best - convoluted and trite at worst. More than once I found myself wondering who was actually doing the talking because the POV kept jumping erratically from character to character, sometimes on the same page.

ART
This gets a bit of a thumbs up because I really like clothes...and if there's one thing Pink Psycho does well, it's clothing design. The guys are all pretty hot, but there's still something lacking from the overall style - it feels rushed and unfinished (but not in a sketchy way.)

CHARACTER
There was such potential here, and it was wasted. WHY is Kaito so distrustful of others? We never find out. WHY does Ren have such an odd relationship with his wife? We never find out. There are far too many unanswered questions about why the characters act and react the way that they do.

ENJOYMENT
As I've already said, the story is so confusing and convoluted that it's hard to find any enjoyment in reading it. I was so busy trying to figure out the characters motives that the concept of enjoyment didn't even really occur to me. Even the ending, which was obviously written to have an impact on the reader, felt pointless and weak.

OVERALL
Non-existent plot, mediocre art, irrational characters - Don't waste your time or your money. I'll be BookMooching my copy the first chance I get.… (altro)
