Lucius, a warlock on a bounty hunt, finds an 8 year old boy, Alex, while walking through the woods.
From there on the story is charged with some weird UST, the boy constantly accusing Lucius of being “a pervert” and Lucius constantly and at length denying it.
Alex, who was sexually abused and almost raped by his father, questions Lucius every move and every action every chance he has. Every simple thing has a sexual innuendo of a sort between these two. The way Alex talks and reacts leaves impression of someone older, at least 13-14 year old, which makes everything even weirder. He should not be so clear about what exactly was going on between him and his father and not so rational about it either.
There are scenes of Lucius being too close to Alex, Alex sitting between Lucius’s legs, Alex undressing, Alex changing, Alex (8 yo, remember?) asking Lucius if he is looking for his male lover, Alex being targeted by a beast who preys on virgins, Alex being carried, Alex in a shower, Alex happy about their room having 2 separate beds... Alex coming out of a shower in a towel was the last straw for me personally.
******
The story starts as a historical, but then suddenly turns contemporary when a local inn sprouts a modern bathroom.
The writing itself was a little odd, too. Definitely needs editing.
