This book gives an inside look into the veterans that can be all around us, such as the local butcher, a nurse, and mailman. This book also uses rhyming words which made the book flow well. This book can be read to students on Veterans Day or in a Social Studies class.

This book was really cute. I enjoyed the authors take on our Veterans. As a military daughter, I've learned to really appreciate all that the military has done. This book is teaching children of the sacrifices made by our own neighbors, friends, and family. The setting is in a community, showing that vets live right near us. I think it is really important for people to understand what the military actually goes through, and this book simplifies it in a way that's important for children to read. I also think it is wonderful how Pfundstein acknowledged how humble our silent Heros are. A job very well done.
