The book feels inconsistent. There are some poems that are brilliant, others where the meter demands rhymes that don't exist, and too many where the word choice feels awkward, like it came from a thesaurus rather than the writer's mind.

That being said, I feel that it deserves a second read and reflection. I have a sense that these poems are poems that will improve with a second or third reading.
