Giro Patalano

Patalano’s book details his experiences working on the railroad in the Bellows Falls, Vermont area from 1941 to 1980. The subtitle of the book and the dedication (see Common Knowledge) are a succinct summary of the book contents. The chapters follow the chronology of his life’s work and each one of them is verbal snapshot of a time/place/person/event. The description of the day-to-day work problems and the actions that Patalano and his co-workers took to resolve them are well described and hold the reader’s interest.
