To Catch an Elf by Debra Parmley
This story starts out with Marcie and she's a house/dog sitter and loves to travel from location to location. She has no family any longer.
Story also follows Zeke and his girlfriend Brittany. He's gotten Marcie a job to watch Brittany's dog and house while they vacation in Miami.
Once Marcie arrives at the house she has a letter explaining what she must do there, take pictures of the elf doing and watching different things, according to the day it is. Brittany had entered a contest and hopes to win the big payout.
Brittany doesn't work and has everything she ever wanted, money is not a problem.
Things go sideways when Marcie notices the elf has relocated itself from the closet to where the bowls are. It really scares her out of her mind.
She is out walking Ginger the dog and starts to talk to the neighbor who's out with his dog. They like each other and start spending time together. The whole time the elf is up to other antics. Like how it all turns out and who came to the rescue. Not my typical genre but like the descriptive details and preventive measures that are taken to keep you safe.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Real Movie Hero by Debra Parmley
Story starts out with Christie and she's talking to her friend that was to meet her dressed up in 1920's outfits but she's not able to make it...
Story also follows Reed who can't find anybody to go with the premiere of the show so he goes by himself.
She sits next to him and the movie is great til the gunman starts shooting up the place. He pushes her down to the ground and he proceeds to tackle the gunman with his one shot.
He then calls 911 and the police department also shows up...there are more hard times for her.
What I like about this story is that it's simple, to the point with some romance.
Love the strategic parts where you can benefit from the knowledge and movements yourself in any given circumstance.
Like hearing of the ceremony, one I’ve never witnessed, sounds so cool to have been there.
Other works by the author, about the author and excerpt from another story are included at the back.
Received this review copy from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Gone to Texas A Desperate Journey by Debra Parmley
This book starts out in Kansas in 1867 where Sally is just returning home with her daughter after helping a neighbor to find her husband Luke gone and their son Matthew.
She secures passage with Moss as they travel to locate Luke.
Robert is also looking for Luke..and their paths do cross.
She is able to bring food to an injured Indian and she finds the necklace he thanked her with. So touching! Love the bond!
Love the action, western locations, mystery, adventure, Indians, clues and calmness to deal with it all, colorful characters along the way.
Book ends with acknowledgements, about the author and her other works.
I received a gifted copy and am providing a review.

This is a bittersweet story of second-chance romance. Tony, aka Cutter, finally really he wants to date a high-value woman. He finds that in Zarifah, aka Edith Smith. She is a belly dancer and gymnastics teacher. They both have issues from previous relationships. The attraction is there. The question is, can they work through this and be the couple they want to be? The story is sweet and romantic. It does have a topic of domestic abuse. We get to see both characters grow. Cutter grows up right before your eyes. The plot could have used a dash more excitement. It had a few dry spots but it really is a beautiful story. I wish we could have seen more as to what happened when he took her home to meet Grandma. She is my favorite character.… (altro)
