An excellent introduction to technical Analytical Philosophy.

The book is divided into three parts,
a) Sets and Numbers
b) Analyticity, A prioricity and Necessity
c) Nature and uses of Probability

My favorite chapter was chapter 6 -–Naming and Necessity.
I learnt about Scope Distinctions, Rigid Designations.
Where else would you learn these distinctions?
There's a lot more on each topic.

I won this in a GOODREADS giveaway - What a witty book! This is a perfect "Fathers Day" gift for that intellectual (you know who I'm talking about!) sports fan in your life.

Me parece muy acertado el enfoque que tiene. Hay pocos textos de filosofía en general que no sigan un planteamiento cronológico.

Research scientist David Carmel has chosen to discuss Introducing Consciousness by David Papineau on FiveBooks as one of the top five on his subject - Consciousness, saying that:

“…This is part of the Introducing… series that presents various topics in graphic form. It takes a very complex issue and shows that you do not need to be a great philosopher or have a very deep understanding of the science, to understand why it’s a complex issue and what the fundamental questions we’re dealing with are. Despite being highly approachable, this book is a serious piece of work that gives a great overview of past and current thinking about consciousness, especially from the philosophical perspective…”
