This consists of 111 one page essays about elephants. They range over a vast range of topics, anatomical, historical, ecological. But one topic keeps coming up: The Kölner Zoo. At least 95% of examples come from there. There are portraits of specific elephants - all from there. Most of the projects mentioned in other parts of the world are funded from there. To a certain extent, of course, this is to be expected when the authors headed up that zoo and its elephant park. But it is so over done that the book loses interest for readers not from Köln.… (altro)
