This was a pretty good read. I like stranded/survival stories. I did feel like the hero and heroine had it pretty easy on the island they were stranded on. That island had about everything they needed pretty easily come by. Still, the relationship stuff was pretty good and believable. The writing could use some polishing.

I loved this book. I like how that old saying "you can't judge a book by it's cover" was applied to people. Just because we look a certain way does not define who we are as a person. I like how Toi said "Just because I am Asian on the outside doesn't mean that culturally I am not every bit African American."

I laughed out loud one at scene, fast read, and my first one by this author. I did find it weird that Shaun (Shaunda, Shaundae) was in love after one day and Bodie wanted nothing but black love after one encounter. The epilogue was it supposed to be a segue into Derrick's story?

I would have loved to meet the dad and get his reaction to the pregnancy or even her coming to the realization that she was pregnant. So much of the good parts of the journey was not included in the story.

Thanks Pepper. I did like the Pace.

This is a modern day twist of Beauty and the Beast.

The evolution of the unexpected love story between Christopher (the beast) and Ashleigh (the shallow party) is a good story. I like how both parties grow beyond their former selves, and truly allow themselves happiness and love.

This is an extremely "steamy" book, so I don't recommend it, if Harlequin romances make you blush...

Well done, but not my thing.

So...interracial romance lovers should read this book. An overweight African American heroine (Tory) and blind Portuguese hero (Lee) find love in this story. The first third of this book it was looking like a solid 5 STAR read for me then the middle of the book happened. Then...it went to a 4 STAR read.

Then the last third of this story...reality seemed to be suspended which leads me to rating it 3 STARS.

Now come a little closer and let me plead my case and you let me know if I'm being a little picky or not.

But if you broke both of your arms...would you be able to brush your teeth two weeks out of the hospital? While wearing your casts.

Or pick up a nearly 300 lb. woman (# TEAM BIG GIRLS!) and carry her, while wearing your casts, to screw her? (HOT SCENE BTW)

Then the next day have you difficulty cutting your meat?

Do you see my issue? Is it just me?

*sigh* it's the little things that stick in my craw.

But if you love romances stories where the characters quickly fall in love and stay in love, you will really enjoy this story. The epilogue was cute. It's not a bad story at all, sweet but not super mushy. I will be reading more of Ms. Pace's work.

If you are looking for a stranded on a deserted island story where they are there for pretty much the whole story then this is the book for you. Marshall and Oceans survive a plane crash and find themselves alone on a Caribbean island. This is not a few weeks of survival or even just a few months of survival. They are there for a long time. They fall in love and work hard together in order to survive and build a life together. This was a great story.

A multicultural romance with disabled protagonists. Gotta add this one to the list.
