Perfect Match by Hailey North is a comedic look at love. Lauren is flighty and frustrating. She is also insecure and does not trust easily. When she captures the affections of two brothers, she can't make a choice. She doesn't trust herself-her heart wants Alistair but her mind tells her Oliver is the one. What's a girl to do? A lighthearted read that left me with a smile. Received a copy of this book for an honest review.

Dear Love Doctor by Hailey North My rating: 5 of 5 stars I loved this story. The quirky characters and comical scenarios are what made this book a must read for me. Daffodil and Hunter were adorable. Daffodil is insecure and opinionated, Hunter is insecure, uptight and frustrated. What they don't realize is that the issues and insecurities that they have are what make them a perfect match. Ms. North tackled everyday issues with a hilarious funny read. Dear Love Doctor by: Hailey North was a cute story with a lot of heart.

I think the only reason that I continued to read this novel is because the main character, Jenifer Janey Wright, is a librarian and I enjoy discovering different novels where the main character is a librarian. In this case, Jenifer is a librarian at Doolittle Public Library in Doolittle, Arkansas. Very light reading. I doubt that I will select other books in this series or by this author to read.

Counterfeiters and romance in a small southern town: Jenifer is suffering from empty nest syndrome. Her fatherless twins have just gone off to college, and she thinks maybe she is ready to plunge into the dating pool.

Enter undercover agent Eric Hamilton. He is investigating Jenifer because she happened to be photographed with two known counterfeiters. He is there to find out what she knows and how deep her involvement is. Soon, he realizes that she is a victim of circumstance, and he is soon sucked into fiber of the small town, as well as a romance with Jenifer.

The interactions are hysterical; especially the family gatherings when Jenifer feels compelled to tell Eric that she does not need a man, only for her entire family to recite that part, as if it has been said many times before.

The only thing that I did not like about the story is that Eric was her first partner since the conception of her twins. Enough of the born again virgin plot lines - it is so overused.

The secondary romance with the uncle and her mother is also very sweet. I like that she showed a lot of emotion in how she dealt with the fact that her widowed mother was willing and able to take a chance at romance again. It is a good light suspense romantic novel.

This book was so cute! It was one of those feel good books, without -gasp- any massive misunderstandings, gratuitous quarrels between the hero and heroine. PLUS, it had lot's of fuzzy animals and the hero was a vet! It was very well written and just darn sweet. All the characters were totally realistic and perfectly relatable. I enjoyed this book quite a bit. :)

Don't let this cartoony cover influence you - I didn't like these kicky covers when the publishers started using them, still don't like them, and they can be deceiving. I pulled this book off my bookcase thinking it would be an R&D (read & discard) but it turned out to be a charming, delightful read, my first Hailey North but not my last (can't wait to glom her backlist). Charming, likeable characters, set in one of my favorite places (New Orleans), while light on plot it's deeper on character driven story: a widowed mom who'll do what it takes to care for her three children; a rich, cynical hero who thinks the worst of her but finds the true meaning of relationships and family the more he gets involved with the heroine and her family. I loved this story! A sleeper of a book that turned into a keeper.

Well, this book wasn't what I was expecting, and so I found it a bit of a disappointment, but that's perhaps not entirely fair, as it wasn't bad book - just not a genre I usually read. Based on the cover artwork and comments, I was expecting something along the lines of "Bridget Jones" - romantic, but smart and funny. Well, this was more of your typical one-step-above Harlequin romance novel. About a woman who marries someone for money, and when the fellow is killed unexpectedly finds herself a rich widow in the midst of this old money New Orleans family. And of course, the late husband's "wicked" brother turns out to be too sexy to be ignored. This isn't generally the type of thing I read, but it really was a decent story. The characters were surprisingly likeable, and had motivations for their actions that didn't seem entirely contrived. So, for anyone who likes an easy romance, this was a decent one.
