An autobiography of a person who came upon the national political stage and who seeks to make herself more well known. One can say this is a remarkably ordinary book about an obscure governor of a small population state and not be wrong. But one would be wrong to dismiss her for any of those reasons. She relates a tale of ordinariness that is very appealing to ordinary people. She hasn't leaped over any tall buildings. She hasn't swum any oceans. What she has done is to serve the people of South Dakota during an incredibly difficult time and has produced an ordinary result.

Will she loom larger on the political scene? Hard to tell. One is reminded of an obscure governor from another small-population state that made a large imprint.… (altro)
