During the past 2 ½ years, as I have tried to be a good Christian woman, the amount and variety of knowledge I've acquired are substantial. An interesting and vital topic to our faith covered by this knowledge is that of fasting.

The topic of fasting has been covered by Scripture in both the Old and New Testaments, and both Testaments teach believers and readers about the value of fasting. A broad description of fasting and its reason is abstaining from food or drink to focus on prayer and seeking God's will. According to the Old Testament, there were two types of fasting: public and private; both offer great spiritual benefits.

Because the Bible documents the fasting of several Biblical individuals, we've been made aware that the Lord grants supernatural revelation and wisdom to those who participate in this practice. Through the practice of fasting, we can increase our relationship with our Lord.

Moses, Daniel, and even Jesus fasted! Scripture tells us that fasting will help us grow a more intimate relationship with Christ and will open our eyes to what He wants to teach us.

Through the pages of this book, author Sheldon D. Newton desires his readers who are believers in the Lord to embrace the practice of fasting; instead of shying away from it, since this practicing in this empowering spiritual practice can produce ground-breaking results. The Lord responds in miraculous ways to individuals who participate in the fasting ritual with a heart that is pure. Fasting for some might be the last resort for them to achieve what they desire from the Lord.
In this short, yet empowering reading experience, the author wants his readers to learn the principles associated with fasting and prayers, so their lives will forever be transformed for God’s glory; which is why I’ve given the author 5 STARS.

Before beginning my journey in "trying to be a good Christian woman," I had a secular existence before publishing my first two Christian books on January 11, 2020, days before my 69th birthday. I wound up publishing these books because I was an author who also loved reviewing books, and the shift in concentrating my reviewing efforts to the genre of nonfiction Christian books, inspired me to write them. The publishing of these books, in turn, inspired me to become a Christian blogger.

While the first two books I published had been of a fictional nature, my third Christian book is one of a nonfictional nature, as, in it, I'm exhibiting my passion for sharing the words of the Lord, which is being repeated in the book I'm currently writing. The more I write my blog, the more I share the words of the Lord; besides my life being more fulfilled than ever before, I keep contemplating whether I should start my own ministry, despite only having 40 blog followers after almost 2 ½ years.

It has to be understood undertaking a ministry is an awesome responsibility that 'can't be taken lightly as it involves the lives of other individuals. If you read my blog, it appears that now in my later years, I've found a new fulfilling purpose in my life. For me to do this,
I need to comprehend everything necessary for this to become a reality, especially at my age.

Since this book has been essentially written for much younger individuals just entering their adult, I figured it might also be useful for me. In reading this book, I found it to be a foundation-building guidebook in creating a successful ministry affecting the Lord's Kingdom for a long time and influencing what one needs to know in preparing for this life-changing undertaking.

For wanting to facilitate the decision¬-making process for individuals desiring to take their relationship with the Lord to the highest level, I've given Bishop Sheldon Newton 5 STARS for his endeavor here.

As Christians, the Lord wants us to persevere regardless of what might be confronting us. In wanting to accomplish this goal and experience triumph in His being, the Lord desires for us to acquire knowledge in surmounting the adversities, barriers, trials, and tribulations that have been faced in front of us.

And to accomplish this, the Lord desires for us to practice diligence in our efforts to persevere in getting whatever we’re attempting to do and not stop until the task has been completed. We can’t quit until we have given the task everything we could. The idea of diligence in all that we do as Christians are crucial for us to comprehend, as we can’t be saved without possessing it.

As Christians, we’re eager to please the Lord; however, we must keep in mind what we read in HEBREWS 11:6 [NKJV]:

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”

We also get told what happens when we are diligent in PROVERBS. In PROVERBS 10:4 [NKJV], we’re told that:

“He who has a slack hand becomes poor, But the hand of the diligent makes rich.”

This gets retold in PROVERBS 13:4 [NKJV]:

“The soul of a lazy man desires, and has nothing; But the soul of the diligent shall be made rich.”

We must remain strong and tireless to receive what we get told in GALATIANS 6:9 [NKJV]:

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”

An important thing that we must endeavor to do at all times in our diligence is to follow the advice we find written in 1 CORINTHIANS 15:58 [NLT]:

“So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.”

One of the last things we need to do as Christians in practicing diligence is to remember what we’re told in DEUTERONOMY 6:17 [NKJV]:

“You shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, His testimonies, and His statutes which He has commanded you.”

What author and pastor Sheldon Newton has done in this book is to assist us in gaining and regaining the enthusiasm and fervor for the presence of the Lord in our lives. The message of his book is our necessity to acquire a closer relationship with the Lord and, in the process, attain an enduring passion for his words and his presence in our lives; we not only pray but have our prayers being fraught with power to achieve desired outcomes. Pastor Newton wants his readers to be more familiar with our Lord and Savior. He desires for us as Christians to strive to be more diligent in our perseverance in doing things the way the Lord wants us to. For this reason, I’ve given Pastor Newton 5 STARS for his endeavor here.

It's been about two years, 22 months, to be correct, since I started my journey to be a good Christian woman who is now turning 71 years old come January. During this time, I have grown a lot not only in my love of sharing the words of the Lord on my Christian with others but in an understanding of scripture itself. This understanding led to writing my third Christian book that uses scripture to discuss 40 topics that are part of Christian lives.

Author Sheldon D. Newton in writing this book takes the Bible and, using his knowledge of theology, divides it into seven distinct sections that he calls dispensation periods. According to what I've found on the internet, Dispensational Theology can be defined very simply as a system of theology that attempts to develop the Bible's philosophy of history based on the sovereign rule of God. It represents the whole of Scripture and history as being covered by several dispensations of God's rule.

Using the author's description for his book, he states that:

It shows how and when each dispensational period begins and where each ends. The unveiling of the prophetic timeline gives the minister and the believer a glimpse of what is to come. The "Blessed Hope" and the glorious future of the child of God is portrayed most marvelously. This is a theological study book, written easily and understandably so that any reader can gain clear insight into the mysteries of the Word of God and the culmination of the ages.

While the target audience for this book is the passionate and enthusiastic students of scripture to allow them to possess a stronger and firmer comprehension of each time period that Mr. Newton discusses, I found it also can be a wonderful insight to anyone, like myself, who loves reading about the Lord's words.

For wanting to give his readers a clearer understanding of the Bible and what it has to offer to anyone who loves reading it, I've given this book and its author, Sheldon D. Newton, 5 STARS.

In the past eighteen months or months I’ve gotten into reading/reviewing nonfiction Christian books, and if you’ve got any doubts, just read the reviews I’ve written during this period, which so far this year has accounted for over 70% of the almost 90 books I’ve reviewed.

Reading this many books from this genre wound up inspiring me to write two Christians of my own and forgetting the amount of spiritual knowledge and understanding I’ve begun to obtain. The only problem I’ve got is trying to recall the scriptures off the top of my head as if they’d be coming from my heart, which is what attracted me to read this book.

I admire those Christians who can seemingly rattle off scriptures to others as they discuss the Bible with them, and would to be able to do the same, even if it’s to a lesser extend.

In writing this book, author Sheldon D Newton wants his readers, including me, to acquire the ability to remember more of what we read when it comes to scriptures. The ability to do this is what I would like to achieve, and in writing this book, the author is fulfilling what we read in both MATTHEW 7:7 and LUKE 11:9 [NKJV]:

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

To achieve his desired goal with his readers the author has written this book in an unambiguous and easy to comprehend manner using biblical notions that have the ability to change a person’s life through the usage of various study aids, so ultimately his readers might possess the ability to have the words of the Lord emanating from their hearts. And when this occurs, the author, I believed would it would fulfill what we read in DEUTERONOMY 6:6 [NKJV]

“And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.”

Being able to know the entire Bible my heart is a lifelong task, and this book endeavors to make it a bit easier for its readers to begin the memorization process, which is why I’m giving this book and its author the 5 STARS it has gotten.

How many times have we, in our time of need reached out to G-d as ask him for his intervention to help us get through the crisis we’ve been facing. Quite a few, right. But then we get frustrated because we didn’t seem to get any sort of response to our pleas.

1 JOHN 3:1 [NKJV] states:

“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us because it did not know Him.”

And as His children, the Lord speaks to us to lead and guide us along the path the Lord has chosen for us to follow. The unfortunate thing about this is that many individuals are unaware when He does speak to them.

Scripture even talks about the Lord does speaks to us in JOB 33:14-16 [NKJV]

[14] For God may speak in one way, or in another, Yet man does not perceive
It.
[15] In a dream, in a vision of the night, When deep sleep falls upon men, While slumbering on their beds,
[16] Then He opens the ears of men, And seals their instruction.

What the author, Pastor Sheldon D. Newton, is attempting to communicate to his readers concerns us recognizing when the Lord is actually attempting to speak to us and when he’s not, and avoiding voices that do not belong to the Lord.

This empowering short book want its readers to come away with a closer relationship with the Lord, by recognizing when and how He is speaking to them. It is for this reason, I’ve given Pastor Shelton the 5 STARS he’s received from this reviewer of nonfiction Christian books.

We Read In 1 CORINTHIANS 3:1 [NJKV] the following:
“And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ.”
The reason that I’m mentioning this scripture is that I believe there are far too many Christians who possess a difficulty in living the lifestyle the Lord would love them to live. This difficulty is probably due to their being ignorant of how to live such a life, for we’re still children in the eyes of the Lord when it comes to the aspect of being a Christian.

And in ancient times, this had been the task the Lord had given Timothy to do as is stated in scripture when we read 1 CORINTHIANS 4:17 [NKJV]:

“For this reason, I have sent Timothy to you, who is my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who will remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church.”

Perhaps this is the reason the author of this book, Sheldon D. Newton, has taken it upon himself to step into Timothy’s to teach the Lord’s believers this information anew.

The author begins his book by telling his readers that going from just being merely a good Christian to a good Christian living Lord’s intended lifestyle is a progression. A progression in which one goes from merely having a relationship with the LordHim to that one becomes learned in the Lord and His ways. In the pages of this book, he directs his readers to a pathway fraught with the values necessary to lead them to a triumphant and victorious in the eyes of the Lord Christian lifestyle.

I started my review by talking about how many Christians are still like a baby without any knowledge of living a proper Christian life. The author desires that his readers will be able to mature in their spiritualistic growth into an adult who is ready to take on the responsibility of living a Christian life that the Lord desires all of His believers to live.

For wanting to transform his readers from being a mere baby to an adult in regards to living a Christian-based lifestyle, as a voracious reviewer of nonfiction Christian books, I’ve given Mr. Newton five 5 STARS for his endeavor here.

Some individuals are under the misconception that for them to pray, one has only to utter a bunch of words expressing their desires from the Lord, while at the same time allowing outside distractions to interfere with their praying. And then they wonder why their prays do not achieve any of their desired results.

To achieve their desired results from their prayers, individuals must first eradicate the distractions from the area they wish to pray in so they can reach a peaceful communion with the Lord. Once this communion has gotten attained, they can concentrate on what kind of prayer they need to make based upon their specific needs.

What the author does within the pages of this book is to educate his readers as to the other things that can hinder obtaining answers for what they’re beseeching the Lord to help them with, such as not having forgiven others, uncertainty, and articulating inappropriate words. The author also addresses a variety of prayers and how to go about achieving results from them. The most important aspect of getting prayers answered in having an increased faith in the Lord that will produce an increased level of confidence that each of our pray offerings will get heard by Him and will be answered by Him.

For wanting his readers to achieve higher productivity in getting their prayers answered, I’ve given the author, Bishop Sheldon D. Newton, the 5 STARS he deserves.
