What a strangely wonderful book. Part The Hobbit, part Wizard of Oz…or maybe Alice in Wonderland? Reads like a YA book but the references and jokes are definitely for an older reader…one who remembers that Disneyland used to have E ticket rides.

The story takes place in and around Humbug Mountain on the Oregon Coast. When 16 year old Noah decides to run away from home, his younger sister Abby follows him, then fate and destiny take over as the brother and sister fulfill the prophecy in an attempt to save the world…from an evil troll and his army of ogres, skrees, banshees and demons.… (altro)

What a fun little mystery with a Portland, OR setting and a likable, if unlikely, hero. You can easily read this in one or two rainy Pacific NW afternoons.
