This book is by an anonymous Catholic Cistercian monk. Moine means monk.

1271. The Happening at Lourdes: The Sociology of the Grotto, by Alan Neane (14 Apr 1974) I thought this book an excellent follow-up to The Miracle of Lourdes, by Ruth Cranston, which I read on 7 Apr 1974. The approach is inquiring, and examines the literature, especially the books by Emile Zola, Joris-Karl Huymanns, Robert Hugh Benson, and Frances Parkinson Keyes. A most interesting and informative book.

Beautifully expressed substance of eremitical life, calling, spirituality, prayer, and challenges. Many Scripture references. Both the Irish Da (venerable priest) and the Catholic hermit found benefit in this book. Good for anyone, hermit or not.

This book almost reads, as a manual for the eremitic life, its deep, penetrating explanations of what it means to live the Gospel generously is simply breathtaking. We are taken into the heart of this hermitage that is within us all. We are guided into the inner rooms of St. Paul, Mary Magdalen, and Jesus, to the tops of the Mounts of the Bible, Sinai, Tabor, Olives, and more. Accompanied with appropriate Scripture. You will find yourself reading this book multiple times.
