Summary: This book is a poetry book that tells a story about the journey of a sick bee and it is swallowed by a spider and the spider is swollowed by a frog. The pattern goes on up to bigger animals until the bee sneezes inside the spider and all of the animals that have been eaten come flying out of the last animal in the story. All of the animals said "Bless you, bee." because his sneeze saved them all, for they had been eaten!

Personal reaction: This book is super cute, I enjoyed it. The pattern of the animals was great and worked well with the poetry.

Classroom extension: This book has great poetry. It is a great "just for fun" book. There are a wide variety of different animals in this book as well, and I think that students would enjoy that as well.

The book is about how a bee saves the lives of other animals in an unorthodox way. The bee wants to sneeze but in the process gets eaten by a bigger animal than he. The food chain gets bigger and bigger as different animals eat the next animal. But the bee who needs to sneeze finally sneezes and each animal consumed by another is regurgitated from the other. Until finally they are all free from one another.
I read this story to a group of head start children and they really loved it. Especially when I imitated some animal sounds. The children wanted me to read it again and so I did.
I know it's a good picture book for headstart to kindergarden kids. Showing the kids the rhyming words and reviewing the words with them is great. And I feel the illustration shows the children the food chain and how it works so it's a good animal/science/zoology book as well.
