This is the third book in the Zach Rules Series. This series gives children simple straightforward tools to cope with difficulties. In this book it is about dealing with the embarrassment and frustration of making mistakes.

Zach and his class are going on a field trip to the museum. He is so excited, that he forgets to wear his school T-Shirt. Luckily, his teacher, Ms. Rosamond has an extra shirt he can wear, but it is huge on him and he feels silly. His friend, Sonya, tells him about a time she wore a costume to a "Dress Up Party" because she misunderstood what dress up meant. this made Zach feel better knowing he is not the only one that makes mistakes. As the trip goes on, his teacher makes a mistake and Zach makes another one. He is embarrassed and his teacher helps him deal with it. She shows him her "Key To Mistakes" that was given to her because she makes mistakes along with everyone else. It is a simple three-step process: Detect (find the reason for the mistake), Correct (fix the mistake if you can), and Reflect (think back about your mistake to find what you can learn from it). There are some notes, information and tips about using the book with children included at the back. This would be a great book to use in late primary, early junior classrooms to help children deal with mistakes as well as how they can help others.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
