This was a “fluff” read thanks to COVID-19 but better than expected. A soldier with PTSD befriends the mother of a child who is the sole survivor of a classroom school shooting. The soldier is wrestling with whether to sell an inn he inherited on an east coast island and the mother has just opened a cafe on the island, hoping he sells the inn to a resort sure to lure in tourists to keep her cafe busy. Love ensues instead.

This is just a fun lightweight book. It took me a few hours to finish, and was just what I needed after some recent heavier choices. The characters are comfy, the story well-paced and overall just a fun read.

A wonderful telling of the Selkie legend. In the style of Nora Roberts, the author writes in something that is likely omniscient third person (lots of POV switches), but I didn't have any difficulty keeping up. I enjoyed the legend, I enjoyed the romance and the small community that banded together to help a stranger, who has distant ties to their island in her past.

I loved this trilogy! A modern day fairy tale that was believable and beautiful. I was so happy that the series is now in paperback so that I can share with others who will love it as well.

Ireland, Irish mythology and a great writer - doesn't get much better than this!

I liked the setting, I loved the selkie legend, I liked the interactions and the pictures painted by the words. I found the tension created by the husband back in his personal dictatorship stunning and real. I found the steamy bits too steamy for my taste, but then I write childrens/MG books and maybe I'm just not used to that stuff! I was really irritated at the start by language choices totally out of keeping with the setting and characters, but these didn't continue through into the later book, and the pace of the tale enabled me to more or less forget them. But it made me feel the author didn't really know island Irish people - or what a remote west coast island would be like.
But it is a great tale, spun tight and wringing your heartstrings out along with the heroine's. Good work, Ms Moss.

Single mother Annie Malone and her daughter Taylor move to Heron Island to start a new life. Annie puts her life savings into opening a French restaurant, hoping that the small town environment will help her daughter recover from the horrible school tragedy that occurred at her school.

Navy SEAL Will Dozier has returned to Heron Island after ten years to sell his deceased grandparents’ inn. When Will meets Annie, he craves the solace of her arms to silence his own emotional demons from a mission gone wrong. He only plans to stay a short time on the island because of his dedication to fighting terrorism, despite silently suffering from PTSD. However, Annie and her troubled daughter weave a spell on his heart, encouraging him to long to stay around much longer than he expected.

Wind Chime Café is a sweet contemporary romance set in picturesque Heron Island on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in the Chesapeake Bay. This is a wonderful story that takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster ride and tugs at the heartstrings. The reader can't help but feel compassion for Annie and Will’s difficult pasts, their emotional connection is heartwarming, and when you add in young Taylor, it's a endearing relationship that will leave a smile on your face.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention that the author does an amazing job of transporting the reader to Heron Island with the richly vivid description of the tranquil small island setting and the supportive community spirit of the islanders.

Wind Chime Café is a wonderful story about the courage of facing fears, overcoming struggles, and the healing power of love. It is a beautifully written story about one woman's efforts to build a better future for her daughter, a young girl's strength to let go of her fears, and one man's struggles to accept the things he can't change. Wind Chime Café is a story that will resonate with you long after the last words have been read.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of the book from the author / publisher in exchange for my honest review and participation in a virtual book tour event hosted by IndieSage Promotions.

I was a bit skeptical that I would like a romantic fairy tale, but I was wrong. I was captivated from the first pages and was excited to keep reading. Moss does a wonderful job of making you feel like you're part of the small town in Ireland. Her characters feel real, and you fall in love with each of them. Dom has all the qualities you want in a hero, and Tara's story is very moving (Don't want to give too much away). The pacing was perfect, and I loved it so much I finished the book in a few days. The fairy tale/magical part of the story didn't seem silly or contrived, and really worked for me. I can't wait to read the next story in this line of books which says a lot about the development of the secondary characters. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a contemporary romance with a magical twist.

I loved The Selkie Spell, so I couldn't wait to read The Selkie Enchantress. I finished this book in two days. It was a real page turner that didn't disappoint. I loved how Sophie wove together a complex and intricate story, but made it such a joy to read. Caitlin is a wonderful heroine with her own dark secrets, and Liam is a strong hero. I enjoyed the development of Nuala, and all the lessons that came with her unique journey. Sophie did an amazing job of creating a highly developed plot in which you're taken into this magical world, but it feels real. This story is so full of emotion and highly developed characters. One thing I love about series is how you can become so connected to all of the characters. Seeing Tara and Kelsey again was especially great. The ending is a cliffhanger, and I can't wait to read The Selkie Sorceress to see how this all plays out with Glenna's story.

Sophie does it again!

I fell in love with Sophie's special voice on the first pages of the The Selkie Spell and ever since then I've been hooked on the Sea Island Trilogy.

The Selkie Sorceress--the third installment--did not disappointed. Sophie ties together a wide cast of characters we've grown to love but still presents a compelling and complex love story between Glenna and Sam. Sam is the hero we all want--fiercely loyal, protective, loving, and handsome. Glenna has many dark secrets that drive her. And the reader is really drawn into her unique story. Sophie really turned up the heat and this book is something very special. I can't wait to see what is next from Sophie.
