It's not secret that I'm a huge fan of New Adult, so of course I jumped on the opportunity to review The Trouble with Flying. How could I turn down a cute airplane romance? Things were going pretty well in the beginning until I realized that The Trouble with Flying had something many other books suffer from too- a weak, wishy washy main character.
The plot was actually decent, albeit kind of cliche and run of the mill. Sarah is headed to South Africa where she meets Aiden on her plane ride. During their long flight, the two of them connect and become pretty close. After they go their separate ways, they coincidentally meet again at a family gathering. Of course things are never that simple, for Sarah already has a boyfriend, even though she doesn't like him. Why doesn't she break up with him then? Because she's one of those characters, the ones that don't do anything and just fret and flail around clueless. Yeah, I admit I wanted to slap her a few times. However, there is some character development near the end where Sarah has a sudden (and by sudden, I mean like "light bulb!" suddenly) realization about her personality and finally becomes less wishy washy. Thankfully the other characters were better. Matt is your typical villain of the story aka the bad boyfriend, while Aiden is the swoony guy who we all supposedly ship with the main character. I honestly didn't love Aiden, but he was cute and a good person.
I really enjoyed the setting of South Africa and learning more about the culture. The language confused me in the beginning because I didn't realize it was written in British English or that there was a glossary at the end until I finished-oops.
But overall, The Trouble with Flying had a good plot and was a fast, enjoyable read but suffered from a weak MC.

The Trouble with Falling is a very sweet/teenage love story, following The Trouble series. I have read first book The Trouble of Flying, but missing 2nd and 3rd doesn't destroy the read as each of the books are dedicated to other character.

Having said it's a sweet contemporary teenage read, by having read 1/3 of the book the outcome who will fall for whom is pretty predictable. Witty humor and who will fall in love first..

The main character Sophie have had a bad love experience and she is absolutely not into having a relationship now, when school is over. Besides she has a crush on her best online buddy Lex, being friends with him for over 2 years they are chatting now. But she is 'thrown' in the middle of wedding preparation of her eldest sister at the time when she is absolutely annoyed by "LOVE" topic in the household, plus their family home is having a wedding guest around. Celeb is the guest they are having over, he is a little older than Sophie and from the very start she has decided not to like him, as they have met before in an art shop and the mutual likeness failed.

Celeb, once introduced to Sophie is acting funny and tries to tease her as he sees she doesn't like him. His mission is to make her smile, but he fails every now and then.

What was conflicting - the very start, she was having a chat with her sister, but it felt as she's having a conversation with a friend, and had no idea who each of the people in her house is.
Otherwise I enjoyed Celeb's and Sophie's developing romance, funny scenes and dialogues, family issues. I enjoyed her sister lecturing Sophie about ruining everyone's mood with her spiky childish "off love" remarks. This action was so necessary for the main character to achieve a personal growth.

I understand growing up isn't easy for everyone and most of us has gone through it at some stages of our lives. We all can have a bad day and we all can ignore best friends once we get swiped by sparkles of romance and in Sophie's case, she has to choose between two guys...but sometimes she was acting as a drama queen and everyone else had to just get going with it.

Having said that, and returning to my first paragraph, I will still say, it was a nice, interesting read.

I received this e-book for an honest review, thank you!

This is a sweet, contemporary novel of two teenagers who meet on the flight to South Africa, for one it is a trip home, for another one a first flight ever. They both are sitting together and one by one starts conversation. BUT, that would mean crossing the flying rules for Sarah, as she is not talking on flight, in general she finds conversations with strangers uncomfortable and uneasy, so easy way is to avoid them at all. For Aiden it is complete opposite, he is so stressed that he can't stop talking and Sarah seems intriguing interesting. The joke and lough through whole first flight, take a transfer in Dubai and nearly lose each other to find again on next flight.

How long is one flight from London to Durban? How long is enough to know you want to know the person more? How to stop the time and not let go?

They kiss and then he runs away, she heads back home with aching heart and glad she broke off with her boyfriend before heading to meet her sister in England, and finds herself rather odd and unhappy when her ex-bf treat her as present gf and takes her everywhere, tags her along.

This is not only a light contemporary novel but also includes heavy topics when on one of the partner's are over dominant and does not accept other ones wishes and thoughts.
Having said this her ex-current boyfriend is exactly the type....

Aiden or rather Sarah are thrown in getting to know each other in Durban too, rather odd coincidence, perhaps, one may say it was meant to happen.
