Maisie Mitchell

The story of Maisie Mitchell’s childhood is not an ordinary one. Born disabled and unwanted, Maisie is abandoned at the hospital by her Mother when she is told her baby will probably die. Quickly diagnosed with polio, Maisie’s life soon turns to a real battle: to straighten her limbs, to stay out of the workhouse, to be accepted by her family.
