The book does give many things to talk about, but I will make clear that, despite its harsh tone, there are many ways to do things. Each church is different and governed differently with a different personality. We will not take what another church does and slap it on ours and we are not wrong if we don't do things exactly like another church, even as they are not wrong if they are not a carbon copy of us. Areas to talk about and some ideas that may be helpful, but overall it was harsh and judgmental. A softer, more pastoral and supportive tone that brought up options and ideas would have been more helpful. Also found it interesting that while there are expectations of elders, it doesn't address in an equally demanding or harsh was the expectations they should have of the pastor! I got extra copies of the book in a special deal, and with work and explanations the book will be useful.… (altro)
