- My passion is writing! What could be more delicious than inventing new characters and seeing where they take you?
I'm a teacher so I spend most of my waking hours with young people. I love chatting with them and hearing their views on love and life. My students are magical, and I am honored to be part of their lives.
I've lived in Honduras, Grand Cayman, and Costa Rica. Presently, I live in Indiana with my husband, Paul. We have two grown children and a precious grandbaby, special delivery from Africa.
When not teaching, I love to hole up in our lake cabin and write -- often with a batch of popcorn nearby. (Oh, and did I mention dark chocolate?)

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book is one you quickly become emotionally invested in. And not only in Farahs story but in all the characters. This is the first book in the series and is a great start. I am looking forward to the others stories and outcomes.

This is a great short story that seemed to end at the climax. I could feel the main characters inner turmoil. The descriptions are vivid, you feel like you are standing there with the characters. Again Maxfield has done an amazing job. Look forward to more from this author.

From the first page you are endeared to Mags and her best friend Bri. They are high schoolers who are trying to find their place. When a new girl comes to town she seems to take over Mags life. But what about Mags crush? Can the new girl ruin the strange bond the two have? Can she ruin the strong friendship between Mags and Bri??
This was a great coming of age story. I am excited for the next installment to come out.

This is the second book in the series that I have read. Just like the first I found myself emotionally attached from the beginning. Every character adds another depth to the storyline. Definitely a series to be read!
