Breve biografia
Clayton Hartley Matthews was born in 24 October 1918. He started writing short stories in late 1950s. He began contributing to the Mike Shayne Mystery Magazine and then turned to writing paperback novels, mostly in the erotic genre, in the early 1960s. In a California's local writers' group, he met the also writer Patty Brisco. After his divorce, they married in 3 November 1972, and lived near San Diego. In late 1970s, his agent Jay Garon, suggested to him and his wife to write romance novels. In the 1980s and 1990s Matthews and his wife collaborated on romance and mystery novels. Matthews died in 25 March 2004.

Bounty Hunt at Ballarat di Clayton Matthews
Kate Redfield hires Clint Devlin to bring Letty Collins back for trial for killing her father. When Clint tracks Letty down, he finds her protected by his friend who is now the town marshal and Letty is not the cold blooded killer he was led to believe he was looking for.

Soon he is helping the marshal free the town of corrupt officials and delaying taking Letty back for trial because he feels she is not guilty of murder.

This is a fast moving story with lots of action.
