Arguably the best harlequin novella out of the three I've read this month.

Good, solid, steaming hot porn that is more than 40 pages long. Nipples everywhere and the protagonist is not a virgin. Hellz yeah. I'm a pleased reader.

The story was somewhat interesting, even if I only half suspected that the father was trying to play the matchmaker (I really think there should be some clarification for the ones who haven't read the previous installments in the series).
It was sexist in a lot of ways and the effort to portray the lead female as a feminist was so naive that it was almost charming. Like watching your child trying to take its first steps but landing on its face instead. Sure, it's a fruitless attempt, but undoubtedly adorable.

I liked the writing better than the other harlequins I read. I only wish the author would find more inventive ways to describe an erection. Oh, well, I guess we can't have everything.

I'm seriously tempted to try to borrow some of the other "books" from this series.

Finished Reading March 5, 2014

3.5 Stars

**Note: I want to remind everyone that back in 2013 up to around 2016 there was a massive campaign by 'Clean Book Lovers' and Erotica haters against anything that had On Page Sex. I'm sure others will remember the Big Amazon Ban that had millions of Erotica lovers Swearing & Cussing. Their favorite authors removed. Almost impossible to get a True Adult book. It was horrible. I think this is one of the many books that suffered from that. These people went on any book that had sex in it and 1 & 2 starred it. Even though they never read it. They were on a mission to BAN all books with on page sex and make it impossible for the author to make money and impossible for us loves of Grown Up Romance to find it.
They nearly succeeded.

I remember this story. I liked it A LOT.
Was there some typos etc. ? Yes.
There was also some parts that dragged a bit.
BUT! I loved Emily & Marco. I thought the beginning of their story was slow but once things started moving, Hot Damn!
They both have baggage and secrets.
And they had to work through all that.

Now that I have had this book come back up and remember it, I'm going to look for more from this author. I just hope she is still available.
A lot of the authors this 'Moral Majority' attacked and Amazon attacked also, has left GR and never came back. So keeping my fingers crossed that I will be able to find more of her books.

Sweet story. The hero is such a nice guy. There was not a lot of OTT drama in this one. Just a couple who fall in love. What drama there is is from the heroine's accident and how they dealt with her recovery. Nicely written ending with all kinds of pretty love words.

3-1/2 stars rounded up to 4. I liked this one better than the other in the series which I read. Told mostly from the hero's point of view. Pretty well written although the conflict seemed as if it was over very quickly.

Fun amnesia book. Of course it illustrates that you really should talk to your spouse when things bother you. But if there were not miscommunication issues then where would we HP readers be? :-) It seemed realistically set up with the evil OW messing things up. The heroine's amnesia allowed her to break out of her destructive pattern of behavior and grow a spine. And of course the hero could not resist falling in love again with his wife after she loses the behavior which had been inspired by the OW.

Like other reviewers I found the end rather unfulfilling. Still SM has an acceptable level of angst throughout this book even if I wish that the hero would not have had such a knee jerk reaction at the end. Then his grovel was not quite there. There was a pretty good rationale for the secret baby here. The hero was a bit of a jerk for never figuring out that it was his child and just why the heroine and his brother had married.

Been on a Sandra Marton kick these last few days. There is a definite formula to her writing which is okay since it's a formula I don't mind. This was a reuniting lovers story with a secret baby thrown in. I do enjoy having POV from both the hero and the heroine. Here as is generally the case it seems with SM it is fun to watch the hero fall back in love with the heroine and then realize that he's never fallen out of love but has only been denying it to himself. With SM it seems as if the heroes are more well defined than the heroines but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Other writers do it the other way and both work as long as it's well done.

Pretty decent typical SM. This is a trope we've read many times. The sister pretends the baby is hers to keep the rich uncle from taking it away from her. Typical arrogant SM hero who falls for the heroine but then there is the requisite break up a couple of page before the end where he finds out she's lied to him and he repudiates her only to come crawling back. But it's a formula that works for me so it's all good. Although I have found with my SM reading that I wish the hero's grovel was just a bit more thorough before the heroine falls all over herself forgiving him.

This book was okay. There were a lot of parts where the heroine acted like an idiot and totally did things that only an HP heroine would do. A real life person in her situation would have told the hero that she was stranded and asked him to take her to the consulate for help. The hero had a massive chip on his shoulder that made him do some immature things. But the heat between the two was well done and I liked watching their crazy antics.

Sort of a different HP. The hero was head over heels pretty quickly. They got together quickly. The conflict came from outside and was resolved rather easily. Still it was worth reading for the differentness of it all. Took place in Texas.

This book was okay but it was sort of all on the surface. It took place over about 3 days and they were super in love. It was very light and so little happened that it seemed like the actual nuts and bolts of the story could have been told in maybe 30 pages. Just that the day they met took over half the book. Enjoyable but more fluff than normal even for HP.

Very nice story of a man who mistakenly believes a woman is a call girl. He had a reason for his belief but he did not treat her poorly. So that was different on both counts. A very sweet story and I loved both the hero and the heroine.

Goofy little story with a wildly improbably plot. Nothing in it to be taken seriously but I enjoyed it. It was like the silliest of romantic comedies. Totally light and fun. I spent the first 120 page fretting over the fact that the heroine was still wearing an ill fitting home made brown dress. Come on we need some typical HP power shopping.

I think I might check out the brothers' stories.

Interesting time travel HP. Which is odd because that is not a story line which is common in HPs. It was well written for the most part but I had some quibbles about some of the scenes the author chose to include. For example there were two times within the first 24 hours of knowing each other that they came to the VERY brink of having sex. The heroine got cold feet both times. Once I could forgive. Even though I agree that a woman has the right to call a halt at any time, she also has the responsibility to not let it go that far before saying no. Otherwise there are bad names for women like that. So instead of that second abortive scene which really just restated ideas presented in the first aborted scene, I would have preferred more angsty trying to get back together scenes at the end. The whole 'but we're from 2 different times' thing was wrapped up pretty quick and could have used a few more pages.

Still worth the read.

The idea was better than the execution. He was a retired spec ops soldier but I didn't really see it. I guess it wasn't realistic enough? She had been raped by her step father and had issues with not wanting anything to do with guys and that was realistic but she did seem a little whinny rather than suffering. Anyway end result it was just too "suspense/spec ops lite" and too rushed for the story to be told.

This kept my interest. Kristin works for Seth but resists knowing him since once 5 years ago she fell in love with her boss and had an affair and he left her and she lost her job etc. Here Seth is reassigned to Rome and Kristin who has begun to be attracted to him decides not to go with him but her financial situation forces her to go to keep her job. They fall in love and have an affair but she catches him apparently cheating on her and runs home. Needless to say this is a Harlequin so he wasn't really cheating. The other girl was his sister.

Standard story but was well done and well written. Kristin was not a doormat and Seth was not too arrogant. It held my interest.

Its mills and boons style romance so you know what you are getting, unplanned pregnancy, emotionally damaged hero, unable to love. When the heroine gets some back bone, she's great.

Its a good story. A little bit different, parents who are divorced attend their daughters wedding and after she sees how much they can't stand being around each other after initially loving each other so much she doubts her own marriage. This leads to her parents confronting the issues that led to their break up.

I didn't like the hero, he made assumptions, was unreasonable, was arrogant and left the heroine when she needed him most. And I'm sorry an apology wouldn't be enough not after the state she would have been in.
I don't understand how people think that they can say I love you and it's like they have had a personality transplant and are suddenly going to be a nicer person.. I get he's jaded but he's so horrid.
And the heroine is a virgin, she's held out this long why give it all up for someone like him.

This was a really good book and like all the other HP books, I enjoyed it a lot. I would have wanted a little epilogue in the end but I guess I just have to use my imagination. All in all, this was a very nice book and I', looking forward to reading more of these books.

This is the first book in the "The Orsini Brides" and Anna Orsini is sent off to Italy by her father Cesare to play lawyer over a small strip of land he claims belongs to her mother but in truth is owned by Prince Draco.
In actual fact, it's his crafty way of playing matchmaker for his daughter and Prince Draco Valenti.
The manipulative old sod.
So this was a sassy hot read from the get-go and though I did find Anna herself to be a bit annoying with her feminist rantings.
I absolutely adored Draco, he was so scrummy sweet and utterly adorable.
This was a lovely engaging story which I would have rated higher if Anna had maybe been a bit more likable.
I just have an issue with woman who argue the toss all the time for no other reason than to be difficult.
Having a giant chip on their shoulder over every common courtesy extended, but would be the first to winge at any lack of chivalry they perceived as a slight.
Wanting there cake and eating it as well.
I mean come on man she was even pulling her face when he wanted her to try a certain ice-cream, flavour, it was bloody ice-cream man.
I still enjoyed this but just felt Draco deserved much more.
So this was an ok read for me that could have better with a different female lead, like someone, not ANNA!!!
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of "The Ice Prince"of which I have reviewed voluntary.
