I'm a big fan of Ms. Marquis' work, but this one just wasn't that good. The writing seemed awkward, especially the dialog, and the pacing seemed off. If I didn't know better, I'd think it was written by someone else.
Since I broke my review fast for another book, I figured hey, write another!
Nemesis has an interesting fairy tale quality to it. The setting is a bit sketched but it's basically alternate history on Earth, where vampires are a major faction in the global state of things.
I liked the characters. My only real complaint is that it felt too rushed. I would have liked to see more of Ginger's path from defiance and anger to acceptance and finally, love. I wanted to see more inner turmoil because I'm a drama whore or something. I dunno.
I'm not sure why it took me so long to buy and read this one. Maybe because I'm more into androids than vampires. (Hint, hint, Michelle. More Droid porn, please!) :D… (altro)
