Still fun, but writing quality definitely went down-hill and the romance of Kate & Rick became forced and cloying, especially after her near-death and then their marriage (I think in this season).½

We really liked this show, especially the interaction of the secondary characters, and the fact that they actually did detective work and sleuthing, rather than just a police procedural.½

Most of the fun of the series is seeing the people interact, this was no exception. Seeing the relationships develop and how they work together is interesting. Castle also has to work on how his relationship with Beckett is mutually useful and how they spark well off each other. Things that happen are complicated and interesting and I enjoyed watching it.

The interaction between the characters is so much fun, all the characters. There's a great smackdown of a writer by another writer, a touching tribute to Stephen Cannell, Alexis makes decisions about college and the investigation of Becketts Mother's death and a plethora of deaths.

Well…it has been 2.5 years since I stumbled upon the brilliance of Susan Ee…and what a journey it has been. So I will start with saying…Ms. Ee…this was bloody brilliant…

I cannot recommend this series enough to everyone. This is first and foremost a book in an apocalyptic hell on earth…told in fabulous gory detail, Susan’s world building is unlike anything else I have read in this genre.

But damn…the pain in waiting for additional installments was almost too much to endure…but I have to say, it was so worth it. This third and final in this trilogy just exceeded every expectation I had. I am left in utter awe.

The romance between our MC’s is just fantastic. But be warned…this is not a physical sexual romance…there are a few kisses in this series and the attraction, dialog and banter between these two is just wonderfully written. Remember…it’s the apocalypse so…

Is it missed??? Honestly, it’s believable and I think that is what I love the most. Now do I wish there had been more…I mean…I’d be lying if I said I didn’t…but the brilliance of this is that you know there is something building between these two and the interactions with them are just…

Now with this third installment came tears…my god…I was a fucking mess in this book.

I was hit totally upside the head with emotion that was completely unexpected. Susan held nothing back.

The characters in this series continue to astound me…from our fearless female lead, to her “crazy” mother, to her “broken” sister to the hilarity of Dee and Dum, I was not disappointed. Throw in amazing interactions with the beautiful Raffe, new developments with our villain (Beliel), the Messengers (of which Hawk and Howler were a highlight) and we need more…we need a prequel…we need backstories…please!!! I can only hope that we will get these soon as there are clearly many other stories to be told.

A fabulous BR with my girls Susan (review) and Momo (review). "

Not the usual police procedural, this focuses on Rick Castle, a bestselling mystery writer who is shadowing a NYPD detective, the better to use her as a model for the heroine of his next series. I really liked this, because:

1) Nathan Fillion as Richard Castle. What can I say? I'm a fan.

2) Stana Katic as Detective Katherine Houghton "Kate" Beckett--in particular the chemistry between her and Fillion and the witty banter between them.

3) It's set--and filmed--in New York City, my home town--not a Hollywood set or Toronto as a stand-in. And it shows. Adds to the fun.

4) I liked Castle's family. It was nice to watch a good father/daughter relationship.

5) I liked the whole publishing/writing element--there's even a scene early on where Castle has a poker game with other bestselling writers--some real ones playing themselves such as James Patterson.

Really, really fun.

You know that old dramatic principle of suspension of disbelief? You'll have to rely on it for this box-office smash, but you won't be disappointed. Harrison Ford plays a U.S. president who single-handedly employs his rigid antiterrorism policy when a band of Russian thugs hatch a mid-flight takeover of Air Force One. Gary Oldman, who chews the scenery as the lead terrorist, will shoot a hostage at the slightest provocation. Glenn Close plays the sternly pragmatic vice president who negotiates with Oldman from her Washington seat of power. If you can believe that the aircraft's pressurized cabin can sustain hundreds of rounds of machine-gun fire, you'll buy anything in this entertaining potboiler, especially thanks to Ford's stalwart heroics and some nifty special effects. Director Wolfgang Petersen (Das Boot) keeps the action moving so fast you won't be sweating the details. Don't forget your parachute! --Jeff Shannon
