I wish I could give this book ten stars instead of just five. It deserves them.
The book is part fantasy, with friendly talking leopards, part adventure (an ocean voyage, pirates, and an escape to safety), part romance, and part living up to the protagonist’s past actions. Overall, it’s a serious book which leaves the reader pondering degrees of right and wrong, and how to atone.
A tremendous amount of research was involved with this book, given the detailed descriptions of Peruvian indigenous people, their customs, and their villages, the Amazon River tourist trade, and the effects of the ayhuasca plant. It’s a wonderful story, and left me pondering the next possible adventures for the protagonist. The book is well written, the plot flows smoothly, the characters are believable, and the dialog is excellent.
I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book. I used a Scribe to read the Kindle edition of this book. The formatting, paging, and chapter references were perfect.

This was a very enjoyable short book. It's a little over a hundred pages, but the stories really had me going. The theme of the book centers around grandmothers, but these are no ordinary grandmothers. While all having that maternal instinct, each grandmother is quite different from the others. With that being said, each one brings something substantial to the table. All in all, this was a 'feel good' book with a few twists and turns along the way. I would love to read another book by this author.… (altro)
