Trev's stepfather has been in prison for two years for hitting Trev's mother. Remembering that his stepdad said he would get Trev's mother for putting him in jail, Trev has been preparing for his release, exercising and practicing his punches, even trying to get coached in boxing. Protecting his mother from his stepfather has kept Trev lit and stressed and he is unsure of the right choices he needs to make. He manages to find a path thanks to his village of uncles, best friend, teacher, and sisters.
