Sandra Macpherson

I read this autobiographical account from Sandra MacPherson about her life following her marriage in to the Glentruim MacPherson clan, living at Glentruim Castle, as we stayed at Glentruim Castle for one week in 2011 and enjoyed a lovely holiday in such a beautiful place.
Sandra tells short stories about their life to try and turn the estate in to a going concern and fund the private education of their two children. She starts up holiday lets, which continue now, wrote a cookery book, designed needlework kits and got involved in fashion.
She also tells about the MacPherson Clan gatherings, local events and shooting parties for groups of German tourists and stories about her family life, how it is to live in such a grand house and the ghosts.
Some of this is interesting. However, it is let down by a writing style that leaves ideas and concepts hanging; short sentences and statements, she never quite conjures up a full picture of this life and the end result is a light brush stroke that is generally unsatisfying.… (altro)
