If it were possible to give a book zero stars as a rating, this would be a zero star book.

It is possibly the worst book I have ever had the displeasure of reading. Not only is it poorly structured, but on top of that, it is filled with the ranting of a man who would appear to be suffering from a religious fervour so great it borders on insanity.

For example, the author asserts that the 8.5 million dead and 24 million injured in world war 1 were the price demanded by God for the payment of the "national sins" of the countries involved. If the deity you worship requires that much bloodshed, my impression is you're worshiping a devil.

The man also claims by reading the bible you can see the future. If you're wondering why the main title lists it as by "The Roadbuilder" whilst the authors actual name credited on the frontis is WG Mackendrick, I can only presume this is due to that he previously built roads prior to world war 1 and also appears to fancy his views as the lay persons road to redemption.

Unless you have a particular interest in religious views during the interwar period I would avoid this book like the plague itself.

TL;DR - Drop it & run.
