It has the word shetland in the title so as a resident of there I found this inability to resist.
This is a historical romance of the worst kind - so if you like them you will enjoy this.
I cannot comment to much on historical accuracy, but for a book based in shetland all of the characters are obviously scottish. this is accurate in that the ruling class were imposed from the scotland, but the idea that a sinclair (scottish surname) would have come from Fair isle is a little more than silly. She has done her reserch, she got the big things right it was the small things that annoyed. But who other than a local would ever have been able to tell.
despite these things, and the fact that I am not an historial romance reader I actually quite enjoyed it… (altro)
