I picked this book up in an old antique book store. Written in 1929, he was in his early fifties at the time.The story is written in more of a personal rather than a historical biography. I think it gives a very personal and intimate look at the man and the part of Spain he came from. I came away feeling I had met him personally. What is sad is that it took this long for me to really get acquainted with the man and his music. He lived for many years in Puerto Rico where I was born and grew up. I, as a teenager, passed by his museum in old San Juan so many times and never once ventured in. He died in 1973 at 96. What is interesting in talking with my Mother she mentions that she had the privilege of meeting him in the island at the Casals Festival. If you are fortunate to find a copy buy it.… (altro)
