This book tries to tackle all the social issues and politics of the America of the 70s. But it’s too many topics, and to me it seemed like the book was a series of long intellectual discussions between the characters about this or this issue, and frankly it gets boring after a while.
A thing that disappointed me was that, to be written from the prospective of an italian immigrant, there’s not a lot of italy. Or italian culture. Or italian anything really, except for some comments here and there.
Another thing:
The male protagonist suffers from bursts of anger and he's a step away from domestic abuse, but he's "charming and handsome and remember that he loves you, Stella!" Seriously??… (altro)
