- Lankum is a contemporary Irish folk group based in Dublin, originally founded in 2000 as Lynched by brothers Ian and Daragh Lynch. In 2013, Cormac MacDiarmada and Radie Peat joined the band, and the 2014 album Cold Old Fire was the first release with the four-member line-up. In 2016, the band decided to change the name to avoid unintended association with the racist practice of lynching.
