- Gie Laenen is a most controversial author of books for adolescents. In 1973 and 2008 Laenen was convicted for having sex with boys aged between 11 and 16 and was sent to prison for 3 and 4 years. Following his second conviction his publisher Lannoo stopped printing and distributing his work.
