Thierry Labrosse

Ab Irato is the first part of a story set in Montreal in 2111. The sea-levels have risen and the western business-as-usual has drastically changed. The protagonist, Riel, a young optimist, arrives in Montreal in search for employment, but he soon discovers the city unwilling to grant him anything of the sort. Instead, he witnesses muggings and riots in addition to clashes between the "rebels" and the police.

Labrosse does not use inks, and instead, he colors the outstanding pencils directly with a dampened grayish palette. The result sets a mood for a gritty sci-fi graphic novel.… (altro)
