Unspeakably beautiful. Kojima is one of the best Japanese artists out there, especially in the realm of gothic art, and one of the best game artists since Amano. This artbook contains original works as well as works she drew for games (she is, indeed, best known for her artwork in Castlevania) and novels. Few words can describe this book in both its bizarre subject matter and its sheer ability to take your breath away. Her acrylic paintings will leave you floored. The woman has talent.

Not for children or the mentally unsound (and this is a serious warning) - lots of blood, gore, and dismemberment abound. There are some strange erotic nudes in addition to the tasteful (artistic) ones as well, so if gore doesn't bother you, that might.

This book should not be passed up. It is a treat for the mature collector, art appreciator, and the person who longs to see some beautiful modern Japanese art far outside the big-eyed anime spectrum.
